The XL4016 handles up to 8A continuous output current — making it the right choice for high-power applications that the LM2596 (3A max) cannot handle: powering multiple servo motors, LED lighting systems, small DC motors, or high-current ESP32/Raspberry Pi setups from 12V/24V industrial supplies.
If your load current exceeds 2.5A, use the XL4016. For most microcontroller and sensor projects drawing under 1A, the smaller LM2596 is sufficient and more economical. The XL4016 is the right choice for motor control, LED arrays, and industrial supply conversion.
