Current Limiting Resistor Calculator

Always use a series resistor. Formula: R = (Vsupply - Vf) / If. Example: 5V supply, red LED (Vf = 2V), 15mA → R = (5–2)/0.015 = 200Ω. Use 220Ω from our Resistor Kit. Connecting LEDs without resistors directly to Arduino pins will damage both the LED and the pin.
